Emerging Leaders Academy (Fall 2014-Spring 2017)
Mentorship Experience: Professor Jaylia Prussing and Mrs. Megan Goetz
I was able to work with two professionals on and off campus. I learned the positive effect creativity and patience of a teacher has on their students successes. It was an opportunity for me to learn more about challenging behavior and what aspects are important in a student's behavior intervention plan.
UMary 5K: Be a Superhero for Peru
As a class, the ELA group put together a 5K run/walk to support the San Juan de Apostol School in Arequipa, Peru. It was my job to help with advertising and talk to Public Affairs to spread the word about our event.
Sophomore "Get-Together Project"
I was one of the leaders for this project and I needed to talk to the sophomores and the Education and Behavioral Science faculty. We did a Kahoot game night which was an opportunity for the sophomores and juniors in ELA to get together and become familiar with each other.
No Excuses University Project
As a junior class, we got into contact with a 3rd class at Shepard Elementary School in Montana. We became penpals with these students and wrote to each other about college.
